Richmond Hill's Mahaffey runner up at Southeastern Junior Golf Tour event

Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey got off to a fast start at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Golden Isles Junior Classic played March 21-22 at Brunswick Coutnry Club in Brunswick, Ga.

Mahaffey carded six birdies en route to a 5-under par 67 in the first round to lead the Boys 16-19 age group but fell back to a 4-over par 76 in the second round. He went into a playoff that was eventually won by Patrick Lewis from Jasper, Ga.

Mahaffey also finished fourth in Boys 16-19 at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Sea Island Junior Classic in February and had four Top 10 finishes in Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events in 2025. At the Golden Isles Junior Classic, Savannah's Jack Weeks, a junior at Benedictine Military School, carded scores of 76-71 to finish 3-over and T8 in Boys 16-19. 

In the Boys 14-15 age group, Savannah's Carson Hayes finished T8 with scores of 77-76.
