From the first gun to the final relay, Richmond Hill did more than just show up; they set the standard.

In front of a home crowd, the Wildcats controlled the Apex Invite, sweeping the girls and boys team titles with 143 points for the girls and 185.6 for the boys, sending a clear message across the Coastal Empire.

This remarkable showing wasn’t about a single standout event. Instead, it reflected a total team effort in track and field, carrying momentum from one event to the next.

Freshman Trinity Perine had a huge night, winning the 100 (12.40), 200 (25.33), and 400 (56.97), giving Richmond Hill a spark with every race.

Senior Kendrick Joshua starred for the boys, winning the 300 hurdles (36.67) and 200 (21.54), again proving he’s among the state’s most dynamic athletes.

In distance races, Richmond Hill pulled away.

Eddie Howell swept the 800 (1:58.35) and 1600 (4:19.90). Myles Head led a Wildcats sweep in the 3200, underscoring the team’s depth across events.

While Richmond Hill set the bar high, this meeting also highlighted the talent found across other area programs.

Herschel V. Jenkins made noise with speed and explosiveness. The Warriors won the boys 4x100 relay (42.79), while Blessed Diogo put together one of the most impressive individual performances of the day — winning the long jump (18-7), triple jump (38-4), and placing second in the 100 hurdles (15.36).

Benedictine Military School showed its trademark power and balance. Stanley Smart Jr. led a 1-2 finish in the boys 100-meter dash (10.72), followed by Eron Mallard (10.86), while Max Carson (168-2) and Meyer Hagin (158-0) dominated the discus to help the Cadets secure a strong third-place team finish.

And don’t overlook what Benedictine did in the relays.

The Cadets’ 4x200-meter relay team flat-out delivered, winning the event in 1:28.51 — one of the top sprint relay performances of the night and a sign of what’s coming when championship season arrives.

Calvary Day also had key performances, including MaKayla Modicue placing in the sprints and jumps, and Aaron Whitely and Josh Rogers gaining valuable experience in the hurdles against a deep field.

South Effingham’s Justine Nevels cleared 5-5.5 to win the high jump, while Woodville-Tompkins’ Cayla Garner stood out in the throws, winning the shot put (38-5) and placing in the discus.

What stood out most was the meet’s demonstration of depth across the region, highlighting how the Apex Invite serves as an important early gauge for team and individual potential in the Savannah area.

As the season continues, programs like Jenkins, Benedictine, Calvary Day, South Effingham, and Woodville-Tompkins all showed glimpses of what could turn into something big.

Even so, at this moment, the standard runs through Richmond Hill. With 20 total top-three finishes, the Wildcats showcased depth and excellence across every event group. Here are the details:
