Richmond Hill's Sahaj Patel, an 8th grader at Savannah Country Day School, posted scores of 76-69 to finish 3-over par and win the Boys 12-13 age group at the Southern Showcase at HIlton Head National played February 1-2 at Hilton Head National Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C.
Patel won by 17 strokes over runner up Bryson Lott from Statesboro, Ga., and carded the only under-par score in the age group during the 36-hole event.
In the Boys 14-18 age group, Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley finished runner up to Driscoll Sawyer from Greenville, S.C., after scores of 74-76. The Boys 11-under age group was won by Josh Johnson from Bluffton, S.C., with scores of 72-74 to finish two strokes clear of Jack Willilams from Nashville, Tennessee.
The next Southern Showcase event is the The Southern Showcase at King And Prince St Simons being played February 8-9 at The King and Prince Golf Course on St. Simons Island, Ga. The deadline to register is February 4 at midnight - go to Southern Showcase Registration to register!
