Savannah Christian and Benedictine Making a Splash in GHSA Bass Fishing

Raiders Catching a lot of 1st place Bass Fishing Awards
The second of four Georgia High School Bass Fishing Qualifying Tournaments took place on February 13 at West Point Lake in Lagrange with 139 two-person teams/boats. Savannah Christian reeled in a first-place trophy and qualified for the state championship on Lake Lanier on May 8.

Raiders Matthew Gunn and Robert Miller won with five (5) bass that weighed 17.4 pounds. The team Gunn and Miller was the top team out of 18 two-person teams/boats to qualify for the state championship on Lake Lanier on May 8.

Raider Couey Snags 1st Place

This past weekend, at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery tournament. Radier Wiley Couey took first place with a final weight of 5lbs. 6oz. This was the Savannah Christian Prep Bass Fishing team's second tournament of the year.

BC'S Cadet ORTMAN Reels in Bass Fishing College Scholarship 
Did you know that there are only 17 colleges that offer Bass Fishing Scholarships in the United States, and two are in Georgia? Benedictine Military School senior John Michael Ortman reeled one of those schools and will sign a national letter of intent with Emmanuel College at 11:30 a.m. this Friday, March 12, in the BC Gym! Emmanuel and Brewton Parker are the two colleges in Georgia that have such a scholarship. Emmanuel Bass Fishing Head Coach Pam Wells will attend the ceremony.
