Savannah Christian Preparatory School (SCPS) has recently announced that SCPS will have two new program directors, Mr. Michael Buhlmann as the new Wrestling Program Director and Mr. Mitchell Estes as the new Boys' Lacrosse Program Director.
Buhlmann Brings Experience to Wrestling Program
"We are excited to welcome Michael Buhlmann to the SCPS family," said Athletic Director Greg Phillips. "Coach Buhlmann comes highly recommended, and his energy and desire to build a competitive wrestling program will be a great asset to our school."
Coach Buhlmann joins SCPS with years of coaching experience from the collegiate and high school level both around the country and in the Savannah area. In addition to his coaching experience, Buhlmann is also a certified teacher. He will be teaching technology at SCPS.
"I am excited to join the SCPS community and to help build a strong wrestling program," said Buhlmann. "I believe that wrestling is a great way for students to learn discipline, teamwork, and leadership. I am looking forward to working with the students and coaches to create a program that is both competitive and enjoyable."
Estes to Lead Boys' Lacrosse Program
Mitchell Estes joins SCPS with a wealth of lacrosse experience from his playing days at Berry College. He played there from 2017 to 2021 and served as the team's captain for two seasons. In addition to his role as Boys' Lacrosse Program Director, Mitchell Estes will also serve as a teacher within the upper school math department.
"We are excited to introduce Mitchell Estes as the new Boys' Lacrosse Program Director," said Athletic Director Greg Phillips. "Coach Estes has a proven track record of success, and we are confident that he will lead our program to new heights." Estes is eager to get started in his new role.
"I am thrilled to join the Raider family full-time and am incredibly excited to implement and grow the game of lacrosse within the school and community," said Estes. "I believe that lacrosse is a great sport for students of all ages, and I am committed to providing our players with the opportunity to learn and grow both on and off the field."
