Savannah Christian softball earns win over Calvary

Savannah Christian's varsity softball team scored three runs in the third inning and cruised to a 6-2 victory over Calvary on September 12 in a region game.

Savannah Christian's Jillian Austin, who earned the victory on the mound after pitching seven solid innings, started the scoring with a single that scored two runs. A single by Yasminne Lochiato, a fielder's choice by Kaylee Brown and a double by Hannah Jane Gard kept the rally going.

Austin, who was 3-for-4 at the plate, allowed five hits and two runs while striking out six on the ound en route to the victory. Calvary's Emma Overbay suffered the loss, pitching seven innings and allowing six runs.

Savannah Christian improved its record 7-5 and 2-1 in Region 3-AAA, while Calvary dropped to 2-3 and 1-2 in the region.
