The Savannah Quarterback Club kept its Monday night huddle tradition going by honoring two high school football players for their Week 6 performances.

Savannah Country Day junior Thomas Holland was named the Offensive Player of the Week. Holland started the season at running back but took over at quarterback after an early injury to the starter. In the Hornets’ 34–21 win over Tattnall County, he completed 10 of 14 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown and ran for more than 100 yards and another score. His steady play has kept Savannah Country Day’s offense moving forward.

Bethesda Academy sophomore Nick Jackson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. The linebacker had 14 tackles, including nine solo stops and one tackle for loss, in a 48–0 win over Patrick Henry Academy. His performance helped Bethesda stay unbeaten heading into a rematch with Pee Dee Academy, last year’s SCISA 2A championship opponent.

The club’s guest speaker was Dari Nowkhah, an ESPN and SEC Network anchor who has covered college football for more than 20 years. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Nowkhah hosts SEC Now and College Football Final.

The Savannah Quarterback Club meets every Monday during football season to recognize local players and celebrate their achievements.
