Savannah Country Day & St. James Catholic School Score 8 SPAL Titles Combined

The Savannah Parochial Athletic League (SPAL) basketball 11 division championships wrapped up in the last week of February. SPAL Championship trophies were brought home by four Savannah Country Day Hornets teams and four St. James Chargers teams. For the Hornets, three girls and one boy's basketball team took home the championship trophy, and for the Chargers, it was the opposite, winning three boy's divisions championships and one girl's title. Blessed Scarament, St. Andrews School and Veritas won the other three championships in their respective divisions.


The Lady Hornets stung three SPAL division championships. The 5th Grade Hornet girls defeated Blessed Sacrament 14-10. The 6th Grade girls won 30-24 over Calvary. The Gold (8th grade) girls beat Hancock 38-26 for the team's third straight title. The  Gold (8th grade) boys defeated Calvary 39-37.

St. James Catholic School's lone girl's championship team was in the 7th-grade division and defeated the Hancock School 29-26. The Chargers 5th-grade boys defeated Hancock 68-58, 6th-grade boys defeated Savannah Christian Preparatory School 36-31, and the Silver (7th & 8th boys) boys team defeated SCPS 40-23. The St. James boys claimed three SPAL titles. 

The St. Andrew's School 7th grade team defeated Memorial Day School 27-22  in the Bronze division. Blessed Sacrament Boys D-League team (5th/6th grade) defeated St. Peters School 37-35, and the Veritas Girls D-League team (5th/6th grade) defeated St. James to win the championship.
