The kid can't miss the target. Savannah clay sporting athlete, 15-year-old Connor Daniel, stands out in the clay sporting world again. Last weekend Daniel won every event at the National Sport Clay Association (NSCA) Southeast Regional, which has never been done before by a sub-junior shooter. The event was at the Big Red Oak Plantation in St. Gay, Georgia, on June 3-4, 2023.
Connor outshot an entire field of highly competitive sporting clay shooters at the recent NSCA Southeast Regional, according to theoutdoorwire.com website. Daniel was the High Overall Award (HOA) FITASC shooter, FITASCJunior Champion, Sub-Junior Main Champion, M1 Super Sporting, Sub-Junior Champion Super Sporting event, and the Sub-Junior Champion 5-Stand event. FITASC stands for the Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse, an international sports federation for sport shooting or the same as clay sport shooting here in the United States.
During the school year, the rising junior, Daniel, shoots for Savannah Christian Preparatory's clay target team. The Raiders were runner-up in the 2023 Georgia Independent Atheltic Association Clay Target championships. Last year Connor went to the NSCA in San Antonio, Texas, at the end of October to compete in the 2022 NSCA Championships in the sub-junior category. He won the NSCC sub-junior HOA title and will try and make it two years in a row this year.
The Southeast Regional is the third of five regional competitions that comprise the NSCA Championship Tour, sponsored by Winchester. The season ends in October in San Antonio, Texas, with the 2023 NSCA National Championship.
