Savannah's Dollander finishes T2 at Georgia Junior Championship

Savannah's Bear Dollander, a senior at Benedictine Military School, finished T2 at the Georgia Junior Championship after posting a score of 2-under par 70 in the final round played July 8 at Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga.

Dollander, who has committed to play college golf at the University of Alabama, finished 10-under par for the tournament, four strokes behind champion Brooks Urquhart from Columbus, Ga., and tied with Nicholas Canitano from Milton, Ga. Dollander carded eight birdies in the final round and got within one stroke of Urquhart with birdies on holes 11, 12 and 13 before bogeys on Nos. 14 and 15 dropped him into a tie with Canitano. 

Dollander also finished T2 in the 2024 Georgia Junior Championship played at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga., and finished T4 in the 2026 Georgia Amateur Championship played in June at Ocean Forest Golf Club on Sea Island, Ga. 

Dollander's finish in the Georgia Junior Championship earned an invitation to compete in the Georgia-South Carolina Junior Challenge Match being played August 1-2 at Augusta Country Club. He also receiveds Georgia State Golf Association Player of the Year points applied to qualifying for the 2027 Kiltie Cup to be played at Muirfield in Scotland as well as points toward being selected for a third time for Team Georgia in the United States National Development Program. 

Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley, who is qualified to play in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in Pennsylvania later this month and will play college golf for Jacksonville University next year, finished T25 after rounds of 68-75-76, and his former teamate at Richmond Hill High School, Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey, finished T40 after scores of 70-70-82. 

Savannah's Morris Lane, who graduated from St. Andrew's School in 2026, made the cut and finished T47 with rounds of 76-73-74.
