Savannah's River Hood posted a remarkable second-round score of 3-under par 69 and finished 5th in the Boys 9 age group at the US Kids Golf Jekyll Island Cup played March 16-17 on the Oleander Course at the Jekyll Island Club.

Hood carded a score of 5-over par 77 in his first round but bounced back in a big way in the second round to climb nine spots on the leaderboard in his age group. His round included four birdies and only bogey.

The top 10 finish continues a streak of excellent golf for Hood. In August 2023, he finished second in the Boys 8 age group at the US Kids Golf World Championship played at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C. Then in January, Hood carded a second-round score of 4-under par 68 to finish second at the US Kids Golf Copperhead Classic played on the Innisbrook Golf Resort's South Course in Palm Harbor, Fla.
