Savannah's Braden Schnaible, a Class of 2025 junior golfer, must have ice water in his veins.
Schnaible was unbothered by temperatures in the low 20s and a wind chill in the teens, carding a second round score of 2-under par 70 on January 21 to win the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Savannah Junior Open played a the Club at Savannah Harbor. Paired with his opening round score of 3-over 75, Schnaible earned his sixth win on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour since he began playing events in 2020.
Schnaible hit 15 out of 18 greens in regulation and played bogey free to finish the tournament 1-over par for 36 holes and win by a resounding 11 strokes over runner up Preston Hall from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Savannah's Quentin Brooks, also a member of the Class of 2025, posted scores of 79-81 to finish in fourth place.
In the Boys 11-13 age group, Savannah's Finn Nixon braved the elements to shoot 85-79 and claim the victory. And in the Girls 14-18 age group, Savannah's Maya Lilja-Vazquez carded scores of 80-80 to finish solo fourth.
