SCCPSS Middle School Hoops teams battling to get to the "SHIP"

The Savannah Chatham County Public School Middle School Basketball Playoffs for boys' and girls' quarterfinals occurred on Saturday, February 3rd, at Islands High School. Eight teams competed to advance to the semifinals.

In the recent middle school basketball tournament, Myers Middle School emerged victorious over DeRenne Middle School, with a final score of 49 to 24. West Chatham Middle School also secured a win by defeating Hubert Middle School with a score of 44 to 36. Coastal Middle School played well and won against Rice Creek with a score of 39 to 29, while Oglethorpe Charter School outplayed Southwest Middle School with a score of 39 to 18, securing their win in the tournament.

The semifinals will occur on Thursday, February 8th, at Woodville Tompkins High School. At 5:30 PM, Myers Middle School will play against West Chatham Middle School and Coastal Middle School against Oglethorpe Charter School at 6:30 PM.

The championship games are scheduled at Savannah High School on Saturday, February 10th, beginning at 11:45 AM. The victor of the Myers Middle School versus West Chatham Middle School match will face off against the winner of the Coastal Middle School versus Oglethorpe Charter School match.

DeRenne Middle School won against Hubert Middle School in the girls' quarterfinals at Coastal Middle School on Saturday, February 3rd, with a final score of 44 to 13. In another semifinal match, Oglethorpe Charter School defeated Garrison Middle School with a score of 46 to 17. STEM Academy emerged victorious over Rice Creek with a score of 42 to 27, while Myers Middle School won against West Chatham Middle School with a score of 38 to 22.

The girls' basketball tournament semifinals will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, at Coastal Middle School. DeRenne Middle School will face Oglethorpe Charter School at 5:30 PM, and STEM Academy will compete against Myers Middle School at 6:30 PM.

The girls' division championship game will be held on Saturday, February 10th, also at Savannah High School. The game will start at 10:30 AM. The winner of the match between DeRenne and Oglethorpe will play against the winner of the STEM Academy and Myers game.

The semifinal round's admission will cost $5.00 a ticket and $7.00  for the championship.
