Savannah Christian baseball coach Matt Oglesby describes senior Kyle Hilton as the ultimate competitor, and Hilton has provided plenty of results to back up his coach's opinion.
In 2020, Hilton was 5-2 with a 0.60 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched. He's also batting .286 with 2 homeruns, 2 triples, 4 doubles and 11 RBI.
"He is one of the smartest baseball players I have ever been around," Oglesby said. "His baseball IQ is incredible. It’s like having another coach on the field.”
Hilton will take his talents to play for Georgia State University next year. Hilton credits his father, Bubba Hilton, as his greatest influence and said winning a state championship and two national championships are his proudest accomplishments as an athlete.
"I grew up around the ball field, and I always wanted to play like my older siblings and dad," Hilton said. "I hope to be a key player as a freshman in college and continue with that role throughout college. My main goal is to get drafted after college and make it all the way to Major League Baseball."
