Monday nights in Savannah are for football talk and for recognizing the players who make Friday nights special.
For 80 years, the Savannah Quarterback Club has brought local football fans together. There are weekly picks, plenty of football conversation and a guest speaker. And each week, the club takes time to recognize high school players who came up big on Friday night.
The club meets at the American Legion, 1108 Bull Street, just south of Forsyth Park.
The club’s most recent guests were SEC official Steve Shaw on Oct. 19 and former Georgia Bulldog Brandon Tolbert on Nov. 2. Shaw also served as a senior replay official for the NCAA. Tolbert, an SEC standout and NFL veteran, now helps college athletes navigate name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities.
Here are the Savannah Quarterback Club’s honorees from Weeks 7 through 10.
Week 7 & 8

Eron Mallard, Benedictine — Offense
Mallard, a senior, had a night to remember against Jenkins. He caught six passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns in Benedictine’s 37–35 win. At the time, his 831 receiving yards led the GHSA.
Noah Gerrod Lee-Whitaker, Jenkins — Defense
Lee-Whitaker made his mark on defense against Benedictine, finishing with eight tackles, five solo stops and two tackles for loss.
Week 8
Aiden Frazier, Savannah Christian — Defense
