It's unbelievable that the boys of fall have completed nine weeks of high school football in an uncommon season. Various media outlets have recognized our football players for their outstanding accomplishments, but one club has honored our gridiron stars throughout its 74-year storied tradition, the Savannah Quarterback Club.

The Savanah Quarterback Club is still running and handing off the Savannah Area offense and defense football players of the week. The Prep Sports Report has already posted the first six week winners, and here are the week's seven through nine. Believe it or not, we only have two weeks left in the Uncommon 2020 prep football season.

Week Seven - Games from 10/16-10/18

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week is Justin Thomas. The Benedictine junior had 10 catches for 214 yards and a score and rushed for a 28-21 loss to Appling County.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week is Hiawatha Williams Jr. The strong safety from Johnson had 7 tackles, 5 solo 3TFL, 2 sacks, and one forced fumble in Johnson's 43-14 win over Savannah High.

Week Eight - Games from 10/23 -10/25

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week is Donavan Davelaar. The senior from Islands High School rushed for an impressive 117 yards in a big victory over Beach High School.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week is Nickolas Jex. The senior from Windsor Forest had nine tackles, including four tackles for losses, a sack, and a pass break up in the end zone to prevent a touchdown in a victory over Johnson High School.

Week Nine - 10/30 - 11/1

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week is Barry Kleinpeter. The junior was 12 of 20 for 213 yards and four touchdowns in the win over Aquinas.

The Savannah Quarterback Club's defensive player of the week is David Bucey. The Savannah Christian freshman linebacker had a total of 15 tackles, 5 solo 2 TFL.
