During this basketball season in the Savannah, Georgia, area, six student-athletes reached the 1000th-point club at their schools earlier this season. On the same night, three more basketball players, two boys and one girl, recently reached the 1000-point milestone, bringing the total number of players to achieve this feat to nine.
The players who accomplished this remarkable achievement are Jeremiah James, a senior at HV Jenkins; Zayden Edwards, a junior at St. Andrew's School; and Destini Gooddine, a junior girls' basketball player at Calvary Day School.
On January 26, Destini Gooddine became the 14th Lady Cavalier to score her 1,000th Varsity Basketball career point at Calvary. She was the game's high scorer, with 32 points in the 52-47 win over Johnson.
Zayden Edwards joined the Lion's 1000th point club on January 26, 2024, as the sixth boy to achieve this milestone in a Georgia Independent Athletic Association region win over Bulloch Academy in Statesboro, Georgia. Edwards was the game's high scorer with 25 points.
On January 26, Jeremiah James scored 12 points against Swainsboro, becoming the latest HV Jenkins Warrior to reach the 1000-point milestone in his basketball career. The last HV Jenkins Warrior to join this exclusive club was Malik Benlevi in 2015. Benlevi now plays professionally for the Saskatchewan Rattlers in the Elite Canadian Basketball League.
Congratulations to all three players for achieving this significant milestone in their careers!
