Where are they Now? South Effingham/Clemson, Alex Brown, Secures Second All-ACC Honors - Find Out How!

Alex Brown, a former standout student-athlete from South Effingham High School who now plays softball for Clemson University, has secured her second consecutive season of being recognized with All-ACC second-team honors after transferring from North Carolina. Brown was named second-team All-ACC last year at North Carolina. Alex played a crucial role for the 35-19 Tigers team, which concluded its season at the NCAA softball regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Alex showcased her versatility this season by playing second, shortstop, and third base in all 54 games. She finished with a batting average of .328 with five doubles, four triples, four home runs and 28 RBI (Runs Batted In). Brown tied for hits on the team this season with 61. She was second in runs scored with 44. She led the Tigers with 21 multi-hit games and had a nine-game hitting streak, which was the second-longest of the season.

Alex's success in softball began during her time at South Effingham High School. In 2021, she was recognized as the Savannah Morning News All-Greater Savannah Softball Player of the Year and All-Greater Savannah Female Athlete of the Year. Additionally, she was named Region Player of the Year in 2020 and was recognized as an All-State Softball Player during her sophomore and senior years.
