Two Savannah-area arch-rivals will meet with everything on the line. Calvary Day School and Savannah Christian Preparatory School are set to face off in the GHSA Class 3A Private State Baseball Championship beginning tonight, Monday, May 19, at Georgia Southern University's J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro.

Who Brings the Ship Home?

Game 1 of the best-of-three series begins at 5 p.m., followed by Game 2 which will start 30 minutes later. If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Tuesday at noon.

The Cavaliers are looking to bounce back after finishing as state runner-up last season. After sweeping Prince Avenue Christian in the semifinals, they come into this series with strong postseason momentum.

Savannah Christian earned its spot in the championship by defeating Wesleyan in back-to-back games in the other semifinal matchup. The Raiders have powered their way through the playoffs and brought a balanced attack into the series.

Although these teams did not face each other during the regular season due to GHSA reclassification, their shared history adds to the meaning of this championship meeting.

Calvary and Savannah Christian are familiar foes. Now, they'll meet with a state title on the line. One Savannah program will bring home the championship. The only question left is: Who Brings the Ship Home?
