Savannah Christian Preparatory School's softball team took to the diamond from August 19 to 24. One Raider who stood out was senior Jillian Austin. Because of her offensive play and her pitching, she was chosen as this week's John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report softball player of the week.

Austin knocked it out of the park offensively and defensively in four games. On offense, she batted .400 with a triple and six RBIs to her credit at the plate. On the mound as a pitcher, she had a 2-1 record in 16 innings pitched and had 17 strikeouts with an ERA of 2.18.

Coach Matthew Oglesby stated, "Jillian had a great week for us at the plate and in the circle. She is the catalyst for our team!"

Jillian's contributions to both the offense and defense for the Raiders were pivotal in leading her team to victory last week. Her outstanding performance earned her the well-deserved title of the John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report softball player of the week.
