Savannah's Kate Barber stayed hot in Florida, winning the Girls 12-13 age group at the Honda Junior Classic played January 2-3 on the Palmer Course at PGA National Resort & Spa.

Barber, an 8th grader at Hancock Day School, carded scores of 72-70 to finish 2-under par and three strokes clear of runner up Katelyn Huber from Gainseville, Fla. Barber was the only player to finish under par in the 36-hole event, and her final round score of 2-under par 70 was tied for the lowest round of the tournament.

The win at the Junior Honda Classic comes only a few weeks after Barber won the prestigious Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic played at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, Fla. In November, Barber finished T8 at the 2020 Notah Begay III National Championship with a 54-hole total score of 2-under par.

The Junior Honda Classic is a premier competitive and developmental golf experience celebrating junior golf and perpetuating our growth of the game initiatives. We are inviting young people of all ages and skill levels to play and have fun, while competing against golfers from over 20 states and 16 foreign countries!
