BC Area 2-AAAA co champions, Weeks runner up in playoff

The Benedictine Military School golf team tied with Wayne County High School on April 23 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga., to earn co-champion status at the Georgia High School Athletic Association 2-AAAA Area Tournament.

Freshman Jack Weeks tied freshman Brody Graham from West Laurens High School for low medalist honors during the 18-hole round. In a sudden death playoff, Graham made a birdie on the first hole to caputre the low medalist title.

Other counting scores for BC were freshman Bear Dollander with 6-over 78, senior Whit Watson with 8-over 80 and senior Clayton Ruchalski with 10-over 82. The Cadets advance to the Class AAAA state tournament being played May 20-21 at Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Ga.
