BC, SCPS golf teams win Savannah High School Championship

The Beneditine Military School golf team has made a habit of winning the Savannah High School Championship played at Bacon Park Golf Course, and the Cadets brought home the hardware again in 2025.

Individual medalists for the tournament were Habersham School senior Braden Schnaible with a stellar score of 2-under par 69, and Savannah Arts Academy freshman Maya Lilja-Vazquex playing as an individual with a score of 1-under 36 on Bacon Park's first nine.

With Benedictine's Varsity A team scheduled to be out of town for a conflicting tournament, the Varsity B team stepped in and delivered a victory. BC freshman Finn Nixon carded a score of Even par 71 to finish runner up, and fellow freshman Alex Dao was only one stroke behind with a 1-over 72.

Other counting scores for BC included Elliott Moody's 5-over 76 and Christopher Butler's 8-over 79. The Cadets have now won the Savannah High School Championship in three consecutvie years, and it was the 14th time since 2004 that BC won the tournament.

In the girls tournament, Savannah Christian Preparatory School sophomore Ava Cottis and freshman Caroline Burroughs teamed for a total score of 7-over 81 to claim the title. Cottis posted a score of Even par 37 for nine holes, and Burroughs finished with a score of 7-over 44.

Savannah Christian's win was the 10th Savannah High School Championship for Savannah Christian's girls and the first since 2023.
