BC Cross-Country Team Wins Savannah Private School Championship
The Cadets received the official results from Savannah Country Day School, which hosted the event on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, and Benedictine is the champion for a second consecutive season! Congratulations also to BC's John Dodson, the overall champion!

Islands Cross Country Primed for Run at Regionals
The Islands HS Cross Country teams are hitting peaking just in time for Regionals. This past week, the Boys team, led by Spencer Shipley, won the SCCPSS Season Close Out meet, defeating Savannah Arts and nine other schools. Joining Shipley's first-place finish was Wyeth Ward 5th, Smith Blosser 8th, Brennan Smith 10th, and Vaughn Costa 16th, sealing the win.
The Girl's team finished 2nd with four runners in the top ten. The Shark's leading runners were Sadie Edris 4th, Holly Kachmar 6th, Bella LaPlante 8th, and Brylee Rein 10th. Jane Dardik finished 27th, sealing the second-place finish for Islands. The Sharks are ready for Regionals this week, looking strong for the Girls to complete a Fourpeat, having won the Region the last three years. The Boys look to finish strong, pressuring Benedictine and Southeast Bullock for the title.
Habersham Girls Team 2nd at Region; Phillips 2nd as an Individual
The Habersham School Girls XC Team captured 2nd at the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools (GAPPS) Division II Region 1 meet in Cumming, GA today, placing two runners in the top 10. Sadie McGarity placed 3rd at 21:02. Gaby Kenard placed 6th at 22:27. Holland Hogan, Ivy Ann Hogan, and Mabyl Jefferson rounded out the top five for the Girl's team.
In the Varsity Boys race, Daniil Phillips won 2nd as an individual at 18:05, leading the team to a 3rd Place finish among a field of 8 teams. Tyson Harper, Seth Lenix, Ike Barry, and Tripp Fowler rounded out the top five finishers for the team.
The Habersham Varsity will compete next at the GAPPS Division II State meet on Saturday, October 28, on the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, GA.
