Bethesda Three-Peats; More Region Playoffs Across Savannah Area

Bethesda Academy made it three in a row Monday night, defeating Beaufort Academy 62-33 to win the SCISA 2A Region III boys basketball championship.

The Blazers took control early and never let go, using strong defense to hold Beaufort Academy to 33 points. Bethesda pushed the lead to double digits in the second half and pulled away to secure its third straight region title.

Jordan Turner led Bethesda with 15 points, and Zavier Dorsey added 10.

Bethesda Academy now moves on to the state playoffs looking to build on another championship season. (Information via WJCL Sports Director Amy Zimmer.)

SCISA State Playoffs

Bethesda Academy will open the SCISA state playoffs on Feb. 20. Brackets have not yet been released.

With region titles on the line and state playoffs beginning, it’s the most exciting time of the season and several Savannah area teams are still chasing playoff births and state championships.
