Bryan County High School's lone senior softball player, Mackensie Bailey, will compete at the collegiate level next season. During a recent signing ceremony in Pembroke, she signed her national letter of intent to play at  Shawnee State University in Portsmith, Ohio, on December 16, 2021.

Bailey played catcher, first base, and the outfield for the Lady Redskins. Mackensie had a .381 batting average and knocked in 19 runs this past season. She helped lead Bryan County High School to a Georgia High School Association Sweet Sixteen appearance this past season. Mackensie also was selected as a the Positive Athlete orginazations regional winner in softball for the 2019-2020 season.

Another Bryan County School System student-athlete from Richmond Hill High School, Katie Rearley, who excelled on the softball diamond, is on her way to the next level.

You can say Rearley is as good in the classroom as she is on the diamond. She has the grades and qualifications to enroll early in school to join the Lady Bears softball team at Mercer University this spring softball season. Katie, a right-handed pitcher, and Wildcat standout, recently signed her letter of intent to play at Mercer University.

This season, on the mound, Rearley had a record of 10 wins and took eight loses,  posted a 2.22 earned run average (ERA), and 0.98 WHIP. In 110.2 innings, Katie walked just 22 and struck out 157. Rearley had four one-hitters and two no-hitters during the regular season, the no-hitters coming against Bradwell Institute and  Brunswick

In the Wildcats sweep of Tucker High School in the first-round matchup of the GHSA state playoffs, Rearley posted back-to-back one-hitters while striking out 28 in 11 innings.
