The Garrison School for the Arts Gators (8-0) claimed the Savannah-Chatham Public Schools Middle School Softball Championship, defeating the Coastal Middle School Seahawks (7-1) 7-4 at the Allen E. Paulson Complex on October 16, 2024. It was a big-time game for players who made big-time plays with a great team attitude.

Brianna Miller led the way on the mound with a solid six-inning performance, striking out nine and walking two, while also going 1-for-1 at the plate with eight stolen bases that fueled two runs. Her sister, Arianna Miller, led the Gators offensively, going two-for-three, highlighted by a three-run homer.

Wyatt Williams added an RBI single and played solid defense at shortstop, while Vivian Bernard, Maleeha Brown, and Madeline McGee contributed timely hits and heads-up baserunning. Despite a minor injury in the final inning, third baseman Abi Estrella and second baseman Millicent Liljenquist made a critical heads-up play for the last out, sealing the Gators' victory in a fitting display of teamwork. Gator Head Coach Danielle Wallace felt the girls played well and did a great job.

"This year was my first as head coach," said Coach Wallace, reflecting on the team's journey. "Our goal was to have fun and focus on the little things. I thought the girls played well and did a great job of picking up their teammates when they were down. They want to be great, but greatness comes with a good attitude. At the end of the day, it is the little things that win big games, and their fun and positive attitudes will continue to push these girls towards greatness."
