The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Fast-Pitch Softball Sweet Sixteen is here, and several Savannah-area teams are still in the hunt for a state championship. Games are set for Monday and Tuesday, October 20–21, 2025, with one local team hosting and the rest hitting the road.
In Class 6A, Richmond Hill (39-2) travels north to face powerhouse North Gwinnett (28-3) in a battle of top-ranked programs.
In Class 5A, Effingham County (19-22) is the only local team playing at home, hosting Seckinger (18-9) at 2 p.m. The Rebels will look to use their home field advantage to advance to the Elite Eight. On the other side of the county, South Effingham (39-10) heads to Milton (17-10) for another tough road test.
In Class A Division II, Bryan County (19-18) faces a strong Irwin County (24-2) squad on the road at 5 p.m.
The final Savannah-area team in action, Savannah Christian (29-10), will play its Class 3A-1A Private Sweet Sixteen series on Wednesday and Thursday, October 22–23, at Hebron Christian (26-9).
