With just two weeks left in the regular season, Calvary and New Hampstead can clinch their respective divisions undefeated in the Georgia High School Association 2023 Football Flag Football campaign. Nine other local schools will battle for births to qualify for the GHSA 2023 flag football playoffs.

On Tuesday, Calvary can clinch the GHSA Division 1 Area 1 title with wins over Johnson High School and Glynn Academy. The Cavaliers are currently 7-0 and have a one-game lead over second-place Long County, but holds the tiebreaker by defeating Long County 14-12 two weeks ago.

The top four teams from each area will make the GHSA Flag Football playoffs. Calvary and Long County will claim the top two seeds. Jenkins, Islands, Johnson, and Glynn Academy will fight for the third and fourth seeds during the last two weeks.

New Hampstead can clinch the Division 1 Area 2 title with a win over Savannah High on Thursday. The Phoenix is also 7-0 and has a one-game lead over second-place Savannah Country Day, whom they defeated two weeks ago. The Phoenix holds the tie-backer because of this win.

New Hampstead and Savannah Country Day look like a lock for the division's first two seeds. Five teams still have a shot for the final two spots: Woodville, St.Vincent's, South Effingham, Richmond Hill, and Savannah High.

Both Calvary and New Hampstead have been dominant this season. Calvary has scored an average of 26.5 points per game and allowed just 4.7 points per game. New Hampstead has scored an average of 26.5 points per game also and allowed just 2.8 points per game. All standings and statistics are from MaxPreps Sports.
