Conley, Mahaffey advance in Notah Begay, III Junior Golf

Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley and Patrick Mahaffey both played well enough during the NB3 Junior Masters in Evans, Ga., to advance to the Regional stage of the Notah Begay, III Junior Golf National Championship.

The tournament was played April 6-7 at Bartram Trail Golf Club and was one of several 36-hole local qualfiers being staged throughout the country. Local events qualify players into Regional events at sites throughout the country later in the year.

Conley, a sophmore playing in the Boys 16-18 Division, carded scores of 73-73 to finish 2-over par in fifth place. In Conley's age division, there were 12 spots available.

Mahaffey, playing in the Boys 14-15 age group, posted scores of 78-80 to finish T10 in his age group. There were 13 spots available in the Boys 14-15 age group.

The Georgia Regional Final will be played June 29-30 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
