Dollander, Miller finish runner up at GSGA junior championships

Savannah's Bear Dollander at the Georgia Junior Championship played in Statesboro, and Savannah's Mary Miller finished in the same spot in the Georgia Girls Championship played on Sea Island.

Playing at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro June 17-19, Dollander, a sophomore at Benedictine Military School, carded scores of 72-70-71 to finish 3-under par and one stroke behind Frederick Chappell from Bogart, Ga. As a top eight finsiher in the championship, Dollander earned a berth on Team Georgia team in the 49th GA/SC Junior Challenge Match being played at Reynolds Lake Oconee.

Miller, a member of the Savannah Christian Preparatory School Class of 2024, was the two-time defending Georgia Girls Championship winner and led after two rounds at Sea Island Resort's Retreat Course. But Miller, who finished at 2-under par after rounds of 70-71-73, was overtaken by a sensational third-round score of 5-under par 67 by Hailey Han from Duluth, Ga., the 2021 winner of the Georgia Girls Championship. 

in the Georgia Junior Championship, Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld, a junior at BC, finished T20 and will be exempt into the 2025 Georgia Junior Championship. And in the Georgia Girls Championship, Savannah's Ava Cottis, a Savsannah Christian senior, carded a sensational 1-under par 71 in the third round to finish ninth.
