Habersham Girls ace back-to-back titles & 3 individual titles at GAPPS State Championships

The Habersham varsity girl's tennis team are back-to-back Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools DI State Champions. The Lady Patriots won on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Berry College's Rome Tennis Center. The girls won the title by beating Rocks Springs Christian Academy by a score of 3-0.

In the team finals, the girls beat Rock Springs Christian Academy with singles wins by Lucy Kelly (6-0, 6-0) and Cecilia Manley/Myla Shippy (6-1, 6-1), and Georgia Reed/Lindsey Norman (6-0, 6-0) in doubles. 

On Monday, May 1, 2023, at Berry College's Rome Tennis Center, the individual GAPPS  state championships took place. The Patriots tennis program won three titles. Faith Devey won the girl's singles state title by beating Lucy Kelly (7-6, 6-3). 

Two teams—one boy and one girl— won individual GAPP state titles in doubles. Ike Barry and Hamilton Colley won the boy's doubles state title by beating the Rock Springs boys (4-6, 6-3, 10-5). The girls' doubles state title team of Cecilia Manley and Myla Shippy beat Georgia Reed and Lindsey Norman (6-3, 7-5).
