HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY ROUNDUP: Benedictine and St. Vincent's Academy take the Frazier-Hite Invitational 2023

Benedictine Military School boys' varsity cross country team and St. Vincent's Academy girls' cross country team won with a dominant performances at the Frazier-Hite Invitational 2023  hosted by Southeast Bulloch High School on September 5, 2023. Cadet John Dodson was the boys individual winner and Savannah Christian's Lydia Amick was the overall individual girl's winner.

 

BOYS RESULTS

Four Savannah area teams placed in the top five of the boys' race, with Benedictine winning with a team score of 35. Savannah Christian finished third with a team score of 87. The Habersham School crossed the finish line 4th with a score of 115, and Calvary was right behind in 5th with 120 points.

John Dodson led the Cadet runners, who claimed the individual 1st place medal with a remarkable time of 17:16.8, over two minutes faster than his teammates. Asher Herrin and Cole Minnich finish 2nd and 3rd with 19:24.4 and 19:26.4, respectively. Benedictine's team score of 35 was 38 points better than second-place Southeast Bulloch. the Cadets John Don

 

James Stevens led Savannah Christian Prep with a sixth-place finish (20:02.2), while Pierce Goodman (seventh, 20:14.3) and Dylan Maher (19th, 20:47.4) also contributed to the team's third-place finish.

 

Daniil Phillips led Habersham School to a fourth-place finish with a fourth-place finish of his own (19:42.8), while Tyson Harper (18th, 20:44.8) and Tripp Fowler (25th, 22:06.7) also had solid performances.

 

Nick Aldrich led Calvary Day School to a fifth-place finish with a ninth-place finish of his own (20:23.0), while Sullivan McCarthy (16th, 20:43.0) and Cade Chadwick (28th, 22:13.3) also contributed to the team's finish.

 

 

GIRLS RESULTS

St. Vincent's Academy took first place with Savannah Christian and Calvary Day right on their heels at the Girls Varsity Frazier-Hite Invitational on Tuesday, 9/5. Claiming the top spot, St. Vincent's Academy won with a team Score of 44, Savannah Christian with 53, and Calvary Day with 64.

Alexis Ghaleb placed 3rd place, completing the course in 24 minutes and 5.1 seconds. Ileana Scorza followed closely, placing 5th with a time of 25 minutes and 47.5 seconds. Ella Rojas secured the 7th spot, crossing the finish line in 26 minutes and 16 seconds. Angelina Doan, with a time of 28 minutes and 2.1 seconds, achieved the 14th position. Alexis Spisso secured the 15th place, finishing the race in 28 minutes and 47.6 seconds.

 

Savannah Christian Prep finished in 2nd place with a Team Score of 53. 

Lydia Amick claimed the 1st place individual finish with a time of 23:57.

Audrey Wilson followed closely, securing 6th place with a time of 25:52.1. Ava Anderson continued the strong showing, finishing 11th with a time of 27:05.0. Kate Thurmon and Katie Miller finished 17th and 18th, respectively, with times of 29:23.8 and 29:25.4.

 

Calvary Day School secured 3rd place with a Team Score of 64. Amelia Rowland finished an 8th place individual finish with a time of 26:18.1. 

Chloe Hoover secured 10th place with a time of 26:40.9. Audrey Buck placed 12th place finish, clocking in at 27:22.9. Buck was followed closely by Mary Hines Cribbs in 13th with a time of 27:31.5. Rounding out the scoring for the Cavaliers was Madison Godbee who finished 21st with a time of 30:48.6.
