High school region basketball teams ready to rumble - Friday January 12th Savannah Area Basketball Schedule

Who's playing who and where? There are some regional games for the top spot taking place tonight! In girls' basketball, Calvary (5-0) vs. Savannah County Day (4-0) in GHSA Class 3A - Region 3. In Georgia's Cass A D-1, Bryan County, undefeated with a 5-0 record, will host Savannah High, who is in second place with a 4-1 record. On the boys' side of the region, Savannah High, unbeaten with a 4-0 record, will face third-place Bryan County, who has a 3-1 record.

In other boys' games,  the GHSA Class 4A Region 3 leader, New Hampstead (2-0), will travel to face second-place Burke County (1-0). In GHSA Class 3-Region 3, Johnson (4-0) will hit the road to take on the region leader Liberty County (5-0). In GHSA Class AA, third-place Windsor Forest (2-1) will face off against first-place Toombs County (3-0).

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
