Calvary Day School's senior pitcher Emma Overby has been named the John Carr Seaport Real Estate Softball Player of the Week for her incredible performances on the mound and at the plate.

Emma has been a force, leading her team to three straight victories while allowing only one run in 15.1 innings pitched for the week of over that stretch.

Calvary Day's head softball coach, Chad Carver, stated Overby averages seven strikeouts per game. During the three games, in 15.1 innings pitched, Emma struck out 19 batters, allowed one run, and only gave up eight hits. According to Carver, she dominates her opponents with her precision, control, and ability to assess the situation and decide which pitch to throw.

"As a coach, you know it all begins with your battery—the pitcher and catcher. Emma has had outstanding control, and her walk percentage is way down. She's making every hitter earn their spot on base, filling the zone up consistently," Coach Carver said.

"She's become more tactical when facing bunts or mixing up pitches. She's not leaving anything over the plate for easy hits. She's evolved into a pitcher who makes you hit her pitch."

At the plate, Oveby had a batting average of .444, going 4-9, scoring one run, hitting two doubles, and with four runs batted in. Congratulations, Emma, again for being named John Carr Seaport Real Estate Softball Player of the Week.
