Meet the 42 Local Boys and Girls Wrestlers Headed to the GHSA Traditional State Championships!

The Georgia High School Association Traditional Wrestling State Championships, will occur from February 13-15, 2025, at the Macon Centreplex. A total of "42" (36 boys and six girls) local Savannah Area wrestlers have pinned their tickets to the event after impressive performances at sectionals.

 

According to the rules of GHSA wrestling, the top eight wrestlers in each boys' weight class and the top four wrestlers in each girls' weight class from each State Tournament sectional will advance to the State Championship Finals. Wrestlers who finish 9th in boys and 5th in girls will advance as alternates.

 

South Effingham leads all area schools with 11 qualifiers, followed by Richmond Hill High School with seven. Benedictine Military School and Jenkins High School will each send six wrestlers, while New Hampstead has four representatives advancing. Calvary Day School will send three wrestlers,  Effingham County two, while Beach High School and Islands High School will each have one wrestler competing.
