This weekend the Richmond Hill High School Wildcats cross-country team traveled to South Carolina for the USC Beaufort High School Invitational. The Running Wildcats boy’s team ran away with the first place trophy out of 11 teams. The boy’s team continued their successful season and placed 5 boys in the top 10 places and seven out of the top 15 runners. Corey Adamski placed 2nd, Josh Mitchell 5th, Dylan Overbey 6th, Noah Sybert 8th, Ravi Reed 9th. Also, making the top 15 runners was Memphis Rich at 11th and 14th Sterling Bastian.

Corey Adamski led the team to victory, posting a personal record time of 16:23 and the team averaged 16:49 for the day. Corey said, “The start was quick as the runners charged to get into position before funneling into the woods. I had to pick my way through slower runners for the first mile, and my mile split was slower than I would have liked. I like to get out front and challenge for the lead, and I know there will be a pack of Wildcats right behind me.”

Adamski said, “This is our first time running in Beaufort. Our schedule has changed many times this year because of cancellations. I’m very thankful for every race we get to run this year.”

The Lady Wildcats team finished 3rd overall with 80 points and Savannah Goode continues to lead the way, posting a time of 20:38.44. The team averaged 22:32 for the race.
