What an incredible performance for our entire Savannah Country Day Varsity Clay Sport team finishing 2nd Place overall in the Georgia Independent Schools Association State Championship!! It's even more amazing given it's only our second season of Hornets competing in GISA Clay Sports. The Hornets achieved 1317/1500 points and were led by our top 5 shooters:

1. Owen Haas - 273/300
1. James Daters - 273/300
3. Nathan Porter - 269/300
4. John Neely - 258/300
5. Pericles Lelos - 244/300

Impressively, James Daters and Owen Haas each shot 99/100 in Skeet, tying for 2nd place overall. They entered a 3-way shoot off involving doubles skeet. Under the lights at FCGC, these two battled for 14 stations in what was a GISA state record, with Daters finishing 2nd and Haas finishing 3rd. It was an awesome team performance, and both exhibited great camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Haas and Daters also tied for 2nd Place in Highest Overall (HOA) for the tournament. Nathan Porter, also involved in a shoot out, finished 5th overall in Sporting Clays. Daters, Haas and Porter were all named to the GISA  All-State Team.

In the girl's division, Sloan Mullins led the Lady Hornets with 208/300, Anna Loren Dekle 207/300, and Ericka Ann McKeever 185/300 had a great showing.

As shared earlier in the week, the SCDS Middle School Clay Sport team finished with an impressive 3rd Place overall, led by Chase Buerger with 150/200, Jackson Ezelle with 149/200, and Philip Slatinsky at 142/200. Chase Buerger also finished 1st Place in Skeet with 49/50.

Congratulations to every one of the SCDS Clay Target team members for a fabulous season. Everybody contributed to the SCDS team achieving these awards.
