Savannah Country Day's Pablo Named The Grassi Roofing Flag Football Player of the Week

Savannah Country Day School senior Sofia Pablo has been named the Grassi Roofing Prep Sports Report Flag Football Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in the team's two games last week.

Pablo, a quarterback and safety, scored four touchdowns, passed for 294 yards to six different receivers, rushed for 65 yards, and three extra points in SCDS' wins over St. Vincent's and Effingham County High School.

"Sofia is a talented quarterback with excellent accuracy and decision-making ability," SCDS Head Coach Candice English said. "She is an offensive and defensive leader on our team and has led our group of girls to our most successful season to date. Her football IQ and understanding of the game shines on every down. This week is just one glance at the stellar year she is having on both sides of the ball."


This season, she leads the team in passing yards (1,056), touchdowns 15 passing and 5 rushing for  a total of 20. She is also the team's in rushing and has five touchdowns with 400 yards.

SCDS is currently 7-1 and in second place in the GHSA Division 1A-4A Area 2 standings. Overall, the Hornets are 9-1 on the season.
