Savannah's Hood finishes third at US Kids Golf World Championship

Savannah's Rivers Hood made a final round charge at the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., and finished third after carding a score of 4-under par 68 to finish 6-under par for 54 holes.

Hood posted scores of 72-70-68 on Pinehurst No. 1 to finish only three strokes behind eventual champion Graham Schmidt from Andale, Kansas. Playing in the second-to-last group, Hood was briefly the leader in the clubhouse before the final threesome finished the final round.

Largely considered the largest and most prestigious youth golf tournament in the world, each year the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships welcomes golfers ages 5-12 to championship courses in the Pinehurst, N.C. The schedule consists of a Parade of Nations, Parent-Child Tournament, Trackman Demo Days, three rounds of championship play and the Closing Ceremony.
