Saxton wins SJGT event at Savannah Golf Club

Guyton's Madi Saxton continued her consistent play to win the Gilrs 15-19 age group at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Savannah Golf Club Junior Classic that concluded June 11.

Saxton, a rising senior in high school, followed a first round score of 2-over par 74 with a second round of 4-over 76 to win both the Girls 15-19 division and the Girls 12-19 division. Savannah's Maya Lilja Vazquez won the Girls 12-14 age group and finished only one stroke behind Saxton after rounds of 74-77 to finsih 7 over par for 36 holes.

In the Boys divisions, Savannah's Jack Weeks carded scores of 73-76 to finish second in the Boys 14-15 group behind overall champion Grant Odom, who finished with a total of 1-over par after rounds of 70-75. In Boys 16-19, Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley end up T3 with scores of 68-79 and Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld was T8 following rounds of 73-78.

in Boys 14-15, Savannah's Charles Morris posted scores of 76-77 to finish T4 and Savannah's Kohki Maeda carded scores of 75-79 to finish solo 8th. In Boys 12-13, first round leader Sahaj Patel from Richmond Hill ended in second place after posting a second round score of 79.
