Schnaible and Lilja-Vazquez win Hurricane Junior Golf Tour event in Savannah

Savannah's Braiden Schnaible and Maya Lilja-Vazquez won their age groups at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Savannah Junior Open played January 21-22 at the Club at Savannah Harbor.

Schnaible won the Boys 16-18 age group with scores of 75-74 to finish 5-over par for 36 holes and three strokes ahead of runner up Ross Cole from Waunakee, Wisconsin. Schnaible trailed Cole by a stroke after the first round but carded the lowest round of the second round to win the tournament.

Lilja-Vazquez posted scores of 78-83 to win by four strokes over runner up Vivian Lott from Fatetteville, Ga. Like Schnaible, Lilja Vazquez trailed after the first round but carded the lowest round of the second round in difficult conditions to earn the win.
