Yesterday, May 03, 2022, the Habersham Varsity Girls Tennis team won the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools (GAPPS) DI Team State Championship, winning 3-1 over Grace Christian. The Patriots, led by individual singles state champion Lucy Kelly and Doubles State champions Anna Thompson and Erin Lambert, won their respective matches. Still, the state title happened when The Habersham School's #2 doubles team of Caroline Mouchet and Georgia Reed came from behind to win their third set tiebreaker 11-9.

When asked his thoughts on the team, Head Coach Cameron Hunt said, "We've been getting in a lot of work, and we played a lot of matches, which helped us take this tournament in stride and be confident and ready." The girl's team finished the season a perfect 19-0.

The Habersham Boys team took second place, losing a tough 2-3 match to Sherwood Christian. "We gave ourselves a chance against a good team, and I am extremely proud of how the boys fought," said Hunt. "This is a very young team that continues to improve every year and will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come." The boys finished the season 14-5.
