The Habersham School Volleyball Taking on the Big Teams in Savannah

The Habersham School is taking the local prep volleyball powers and is holding their own. The Lady Patriots have competed with Calvary Day School, Savanah Christian, St. Vincent’s Academy, Richmond Hill High School, and Savannah Country Day.  If you didn’t know the Lady Patriots are the defending champions in the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools Volleyball. The Habersham school has won the GAPPS Volleyball championship four out of the last five years, 2019, 2018, 2016, and 2015.

The Lady Patriots took on Calvary Day last Thursday Septemer 3rd and stayed close but came away with loss in a best three out of five matches at Calvary Day School. The Lady Cavaliers defeated the Habersham School in three games. The Habersham School lost to Calvary last night, 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-21. 

Here are the top players from the match. Jordan Christy led the Lady Patriots with 10 kills, 3 aces, 11 digs; Lucy Kelly with 15 assists, 10 digs, Jenna Kate Welch with 2 kills, 8 digs, and Peyton Burnsed with 2 kills, 12 digs. Habersham record now overall is 7-8 on the season and 0-0 in region play. The next game the Lady Patriots will host St. Andrew’s on Tuesday September 9th and starts at 5:30 pm.
