As the Georgia High School Association steps up to the plate for Week 4 of the high school softball season, the competition is fast paced in Savannah, Georgia, with teams vying for top spots in their respective regions. Also, this year, the power rankings will affect the playoff pictures.
Class 6A, Region 1, Camden County, and Colquitt County remain undefeated in GHSA Class 6A Region 1 play. Each has a 3-0 region record, with Camden leading overall at 9-4.
Meanwhile, South Effingham leads the pack (9-team region) in Class 5A, Region 1, with a 3-0 region record and a strong 7-2 overall standing.
Effingham County has yet to play a region game and earned recognition this week, landing a #10 ranking in Class 5A, as per Score Atlanta and the Coaches Box internet sites.
Southeast Bulloch leads in Class 3A, Region 3, with a 5-0 region record and 11-1 overall. In Class 1A D-1, Region 3, Toombs County is at the top with a 5-0 region record and 9-2 overall.
