Savannah's Jack Weeks, a 13-year-old 8th grader at Blesse Sacrament School, finished second in the Boys 11-13 age group at the Southeast Junior Golf Tour's Sanctuary Golf Club fall event in Waverly, Ga. played September 17-18.

Weeks started the second round four strokes behind leader Ves Butler from Athens, Ga., but he carded a second-round score of 1-under par 71 to close the tournament. After carding even-par 36 during his first nine holes of the second round, Weeks closed with a score of 1-under 35 on the second nine holes to get within one stroke of Butler.

Weeks was the only player in the age group to post a score under par during the tournament.

Butler posted scores of 74-74 to finish 4-over par and one stroke ahead of Weeks, who won the Sea Island Junior Classic on the PGA Georgia Section Junior Tour in August. On the final hole of the Sanctuary event, Weeks narrowly missed a 20-foot birdie putt that would have tied Butler and forced a playoff.

In the Boys 14-15 age group, Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey finished 6th after rounds of 75-76, and Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley finished T8 after rounds of 74-79. In the same age group, Savannah's Bear Dollander finished 11th after rounds of 76-78, and Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld finished 12th after rounds of 76-79.
