More than 10 Savannah-area Georgia High School Association (GHSA) track and field athletes won state titles. They placed on the podium (Top 8) at the 2025 GHSA Track & Field State Championships held across the state.
Champions included Coray Stafford of Jenkins, who won the Class 5A boys' 100—and 200-meter dashes and helped the Warriors win a state title in the 4x100 relay. Stafford, Ronnie Taylor, Jaylen Elliot, and Ketayrion Haynes were team members.
Benedictine captured gold in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. The 4x100 team consisted of Stanley Smart, Stephen Cannon, Chris "Bubba" Frazier, and Eron Mallard. The 4x200 team was Smart, Frazier, Cannon, and Cole Henderson.
Jacoby Pasley of Bradwell Institute claimed the 6A boys' 400-meter title.
Blessed Diogo of Jenkins added to the total with a state title in the Class 5A girls triple jump.
Jaidyn Hayes of Liberty County earned gold in the Class 3A girls discus,
Frances Tedder of Savannah Arts won the Class 3A girls' 3200-meter run.
Harrison Crofts of South Effingham cleared 6-8 to win the Class 5A boys high jump.
Richmond Hill's Kendrick Joshua swept the Class 7A boys 110- and 300-meter hurdles.
TEAM ROUNDUP:
Benedictine Military School captured gold in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. The 4x100 team consisted of Stanley Smart, Stephen Cannon, Chris "Bubba" Frazier, and Eron Mallard. The 4X200 team was Smart, Frazier, Cannon, and Cole Henderson.
The Cadets earned the Class 4A team runner-up trophy with 40 points, thanks to victories in the 4x100 (Stanley Smart, Stephen Cannon, Chris "Bubba" Frazier, and Eron Mallard) and 4x200 (Smart, Frazier, Cannon, and Cole Henderson) relays and top-three finishes from Chris Frazier (3rd, 100m), Eron Mallard (4th, 100m), and Stanley Smart Jr. (6th, 100m & 200m). Cole Minnich finished 7th in the 1600, and Meyer Hagin placed 8th in the discus.
Bradwell Institute's Jacoby Pasley was one of the event's top individual performers, winning the 400-meter dash and placing third in both the 100 and 200. Jabarri Neal added a 4th-place finish in the long jump, and Jordyn Rogers placed 3rd in the girls' shot put. Taneiha Bowman was 7th in the triple jump, and the girls' 4x200 relay took 8th.
Bryan County High School athletes excelled at the GHSA State Track & Field Championships with several top finishes.
For the girls, Abbigale Stucker placed 3rd in the 1600 meters and 9th in the 800 meters. The 4x800 relay team (Lila Hannah, Khloe Smith, Lexi Lane, and Abbigale Stucker) also took 3rd, and Braelynn Shuman was 3rd in pole vault. Emily Johnson finished 4th in discus and 6th in shot put, while Ni'Jalah Walker came 6th in the 400 meters.
For the boys, Riley Shuman placed 5th in the 800 meters, and the 4x800 relay team (Walker Sumerford, James Hodges, Will Summerford, Riley Shuman) finished 3rd. The 4x400 relay team (Mari Green, Ryan Harrington, Riley Shuman, and Anddreas McKinney) secured 7th place, and Anddreas McKinney took 6th in the individual 400 meters.
Calvary Day School was represented on the podium by Marlon Knight, who finished 8th in the boys' long jump.
Effingham County's Braylin Nease earned silver in the Class 6A girls high jump, clearing 5-2 for a 2nd-place finish.
H.V. Jenkins had a dominant showing with multiple gold medals. Coray Stafford won both sprint titles and anchored the winning 4x100 relay. Blessed Diogo won the triple jump, finished 3rd in the 100 hurdles, 4th in the 300 hurdles, and the long jump. Ronnie Taylor added top finishes in the 100 (7th) and 200 (5th), and Ivey Hall placed 5th in the 400 and 6th in the 200. The girls' 4x100 relay finished 8th.
Johnson-Savannah's Jameria Gadson cleared 5-2 in the high jump to earn silver for the Atom Smashers.
Liberty County's Jaidyn Hayes was dominant in the throws, winning the CNi'Jalahdiscus and placing third in the shot put. Zy'Kira Anderson earned third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump, while the girls' 4x100 relay placed sixth. Brandon Roberts was eighth in the boys' high jump.
New Hampshire's Ari Theriot earned a silver medal in the boys' triple jump, and Taliyah Headman reached the finals in the girls' 100-meter dash, placing 8th overall.
Richmond Hill brought home medals across multiple disciplines. Kendrick Joshua won the boys' state titles in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.
Benjamin Hall placed 8th in the 3200. Korben Johnson was 4th in the 100 and 8th in the 200. The boys' 4x100 (Kobe Mitchell, Korben Johnson, Walter Pugh, Kendrick) relay placed 2nd, and the 4x200 was 8th. Eddie Howell placed 6th in the 800, and Billy Cunningham finished 8th in the long jump. The Wildcat boys Track & Field earned 3rd place at the State Championship
Jada Brown was 2nd in the girls' shot put and 6th in discus. Mmekom Inyang placed 5th in both girls' hurdle events and 3rd in the shot put. Chloe Miller was 7th in the girls' 800.
Savannah Arts Academy had a breakout meet led by Frances Tedder, who won the 3200, placed 2nd in the 1600, and placed 3rd in the 800. Ava Treece was 4th in the 1600 and 7th in the 800. McKay Bennett added a 4th-place finish in the 3200, and the girls' 4x800 relay (Ava Treece, McKay Bennett, Morgan Irvine, Francie Tedder) placed 2nd. On the boy's side, Nico Klaras finished 8th in the 3200.
Savannah Christian Prep's top performance came from the boys' 4x400 relay team (Cain Tomlin, Dylan Maher, Pierce Goodman, Blane Sikes), which finished 7th in the finals.
Savannah Country Day School had a good meet at the GHSA State Track & Field Championships. The team earned a relay medal and achieved individual podium finishes in hurdles, jumps, and throws. The girls' 4x800-meter relay team, made up of Lily Barrow, Ansley Cheshire, Cindy Murray, and Aarya Patel, finished 3rd at 10:05.18. Lily Barrow also came in 8th in the 3200-meter run with 11:58.57.
Andrew Wynn led the way for the boys. He placed 2nd in the 110-meter hurdles (14.76), 5th in the 300-meter hurdles (42.94), and 4th in the high jump (6-0). Andrew Nicholson excelled with a 2nd-place throw of 51-3 in the shot put.
South Effingham's Harrison Crofts won the state title in the boys' high jump with a height of 6-8. Justine Nevels placed 5th in the girls' high jump, and Danni Lynn was 7th in the girls' discus.
St. Vincent's Academy was led by Tekla Thompson, who earned 3rd place in the discus and 4th in the shot put.
Windsor Forest's Jhordan Brooks placed 6th in the boys' 100 and 8th in the 200 to lead the Knights' effort at state.
Woodville-Tompkins enjoyed success in both girls' and boys' events. Jasmine Gaither won three medals in three events, finishing 3rd in the 300 hurdles, 6th in the 100 hurdles, and 5th in the long jump. Elyse Hall was 4th in the triple jump, and the girls' 4x100 relay placed 3rd. Isaiah McGuire took 3rd in the boys' 800, and the boys' 4x800 relay placed 5th.
