Dollander, Dao in contention Southern Showcase event on St. Simon's Island

Savannah's Bear Dollander, a sophmore at Benedictine Military School, carded a first round score of 2-under par 70 in the first round of the The Southern Showcase at King And Prince on St. Simon's Island and was one stroke behind leader Dean Asher from Waycross, Ga.

Dollander's round was boosted by an albatross on the par-5 18th hole on the King & Prince Golf Course that took him from 1-over par to 2-under par and in contention to win the Boys 14-18 age group.

In the Boys 12-13 age group, Savannah's Zach Dao carded a score of 4-over 76 and was in second place one stroke behind leader Jack Morgan from Cookeville, Tennessee entering the second round. And in the Boys 11-under age group, Brantley Lott from Statesboro, Ga., posted a score of 2-under 70 to carry a three-stroke lead over Camden Guyton from Kathleen, Ga., into the final round.
