There is a push to get more young girls interested in playing flag football, and there is no better way than a free camp!

The City of Savannah Recreation and Leisure Services Department will host two free flag football camps at Morris Field in Daffin Park on June 19-21 for middle school athletes. Then on June 22-23, for high school athletes. The camps will be run by camp director Nick Grassi.

"The middle school camp is for the athletes to learn the basics of the game," said Camp Lead Instructor Nick Grassi. "The high school camp is for the athletes to improve and show off their skills."

The athletes will have a chance to sharpen their flag football skills through various drills. There will even be a 5v5 skills competition at the high school camp.

Call Kevin Smith at (912) 351-3852 or email KSmith01@Savannah.gov to sign up.
