Richmond Hill's Conley wins Savannah Junior City Amateur championship

Richmond Hill's Ledger Conley, a senior at Richmond Hill High School, posted a second straight score of 3-under par 68 on October 19 o finish 6-under par and win the Savannah Junior City Amateur Championship played at Bacon Park Golf Course. 

In the Girls 15-18 age group, Savannah's Maya Lilja-Vazquez, a Savannah Arts Academy sophomore, won the title after carding a second round score of 5-over 76 to finish 9-over par for the tournament and edge Richmond Hill's Ella Kate Woods by six strokes. In Boys 13-14, Savannah's Zach Dao ran away with the title after scores of 71-68 to finish 3-under par.

In the Girls 10-14 age group, Richmond Hill's Victoria Grant posted scores of 84-81 to win the age group. And in Boys 10-12, Statesboro's Brantley Lott blew away the field with scores of 70-71 to finish the tournament 1-under par. 

Conley, who won the Georgia High School Association Class AAAAAA state championship earlier this year, finished 11 strokes ahead of runners up Christopher Butler, a junior at Benedictine Military School from Pooler, and Morris Lane, a senior at St. Andrew's School from Savannah. Butler gave chase with a score of 1-under 70 in the final round, and Lane was nearly as good with a score of Even par 71.
